
Christian Picken is an Indigenous Canadian film student and aspiring writer-director. He is currently in his third year of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Film and Television program. His work often explores horror and comedy, blending tension and humor to create distinctive, character-driven stories. His all-time favourite film is Pixar’s Cars.
Picken’s filmmaking journey began in Grade 12 with his first short film, Groovin CD’s, created for his Media Arts class at Corpus Christi High School. His second short, After Hours, was produced as his final project in the first semester of film school and was co-directed alongside fellow filmmaker, Olivia Papetti.
His most recent short film, Merry Christmas Mom, was released in December 2025.
